Same side of the Moon
S A M E S I D E O F T H E M O O N

I'm looking out the window
Where we sat to watch the stars
There's a chill within the air
It makes my heart long for your touch
You may be miles away
But as I kneel to pray
I see the same side of the moon
That we'll be looking on when the world turns blue
And know that time and space
can't come between me and you
We share the same side of the moon
And though you'll never see all my tears shine through
I know I can't be that far from you
If we're both looking on the same side of the moon.
I picture you across the oceans
In your corner of the world
I pray the wind will blow my voice
And gently whisper in your ear
Your night may be my day
And though the seasons change
It's still the same side of the moon
That we'll be looking on when the world turns blue
And know that time and space
can't come between me and you
We share the same side of the moon
And though you'll never see all my tears shine through
I know I can't be that far from you
If we're both looking on the same side of the moon
I know I can't be that far from you
If we're both looking on the same side of the moon

You remember what I said to you around the time of the mid-autumn festival? Amazing how this song I'm listening to now echoes my sentiments at that time exactly. Yes, you're probably gonna say I'm being 'M' again and ah well, heck it lah, this is my blog and I can write what I want. Less than two weeks left to when we don't just have to share the 'same side of the moon' but the same tropical sky. I can't wait even as I probably should get more excited about convention first eh?
You and I, we have shared so much history starting the day you stepped into your first NPCCC LIFE meeting. We've been through so much till here we are, at this present juncture. I know He still has a lot of plans for us and I can't wait to see what the next chapter is in the story of our lives. There might still be a lot of uncertainties in our lives but we know Who holds tomorrow and we know Who holds our hand and that's what matters I guess.
May He sustain us as we seek meaningful interaction in the coming months.
Delirious
I think it would be useful for everyone to classify any Delirious album that has been released as a 'worship' album.

Koorong
I went to Koorong today with Lily. Its this huge store in West Ryde that stocks all manner of Christian books, music, DVDs and stuff. Its size is akin to Mass Media, maybe just a lil bigger. I got some books that I've, sadly, been unable to find in Mass Media which includes Elisabeth Elliot's The Shadow of the Almighty. This is the biography of her husband Jim Elliot which she first wrote in 1958.
Jim Elliot is one modern missionary I admire a lot and I'm sure his life and testament will come to minister to me, by the grace of God. I also got myself a nice ESV Bible. ESV which stands for English Standard Version is the version that is very popular with Australians over here, especially the Anglican church. And last but not least, I got me the new Delirious album, 'Mission Bell.' As usual, the D boys don't fail to deliver though at first listen, the songs are quite 'ordinary' but ah well, I'm sure I'll come to love them as much as I do the rest of their music.

Corrinne May
I can't believe I've only just discovered Corrinne May's music. Those who were all the way in Singapore would have long heard her stuff. I heard about her from the grapevine in Singapore but never really got down to hearing her music, assumed she was angmoh and that I'll eventually get down to it. But wah liew, she is singaporean and you know me, I always support local.
Anyway, after listening to her music, my desire to learn the keyboards is strengthened more and more and there's this particular song that I like which you can listen to off the side menu that is especially poignant to me.

If every drop of water disappeared from the land
And every drop of ocean suddenly turned to sand
That would all be nothing
Compared to what I'd feel
If you didn't love me
What if I woke up and couldn't hear a sound
And all that I could see was darkness all around
That would still be nothing
Compared to what I'd feel
If you didn't love me
If I could have the world and all that money could buy
And I could travel far beyond the moon and the sky
If they gave me golden wings,
well I still couldn't fly
without you, nothing would matter
You and I walk beside each other day after day
But there's so much inside me, I never get to say
My life would be so empty
with nothing left to feel
If you didn't love me
If you didn't love me.

All That I Need
My new favourite song.
=======================================
A L L T H A T I N E E D
Corrinne May Ying Foo, 2000.
I'm sorry that I hurt you
I took for granted all you gave
so freely to me
I pray it's not too late
To save you from a broken heart
To promise you
I'll make a brand new start
Believe me, when I say
You are all that I need
The only treasure I seek
You're the air that helps me breathe
through the darkest night when
I fall down on my knees
I was blind but now I see
You are all that I need
You know I'm far from perfect
Like a child that needs a guiding hand
Can you stay here with me?
I finally understand
You've always been the missing part
Complete the jigsaw puzzle of my heart
Please hear me, when I say
You are all that I need
The only treasure I seek
You're the air that helps me breathe
through the darkest night when
I fall down on my knees
I was blind but now I see
You are all that I need
Please,
let me hear your voice again
Let me hear you say
your love will never end
That whatever it takes you'll be there
Believe me, when I say
You are all that I need
The only treasure I seek
You're the air that helps me breathe
through the darkest night when
I fall down on my knees
I was blind but now I see
You are all that I need
You are all that I need.

Jiaming's Sharigan
This is my classmate and future housemate Jiaming. As you can see, he possesses the Sharigan, an advanced bloodline limit only manifested in the Uchiha clan.
With it, he can mimic and replicate any new media he sees, knowing what you did with your photoshop file without looking at your history!
(haha, for those who don't get this post... nevermind.)
Melbourne
So I just got back from Melbourne. I've concluded that I really cannot share a room with someone sia. Die lah, next time how to share room with my wife??? Even sleeping in the same room as my own brother, I get kept awake by his light (compared to others) snoring liao. Hope my future wife doesn't snore :P
Melbourne was kinda... boring. Its just like any other city in Australia I guess. The usual, nothing much... If you wanna do the touristy stuff, there's better places to do it than Melbourne. The Gold Coast for one. Its also one of the first holidays I've had with my family in years.

Here we are at the Great Ocean Road and thats the Twelve Apostles you see behind us. Of course you can't see em all and one of em fell recently. All the touristy postcards still have the fallen one present though.

We also went to the Yarra Valley on a winery tour and got to sample heaps of wine. Felt a lil tipsy during the trip but nothing I'll admit to my parents, haha. The wines were good but hey, nothing fantastic.

A lil self-indulgent shot here.

Managed to catch up with Karen Chin (KC) after the winery tour with my parents off to my brother's friend's house for dinner. We had nice Japanese food at a place also called 'Don Don' for those familiar with the one along Oxford Street. Don't know if its a branch of the same franchise or what. KC is fine, without her Jojo but otherwise fine. (KC and Jojo, get it? Haha, sorry, old KKMC joke) Leading a boring corporate existence but ah well, thats Australia for you.

<Private Joke: Oh look, some graffiti at one of the waterfalls I visited. I didn't draw that, hehe.>
Ok, I'm not feeling well, so going to go now. Remember folks, dispose of your syringes carefully~

Melbourne Bound
I'll be heading to Melbourne this afternoon for about a week to visit my brother and my parents who are flying over. I'll probably be able to access the net at my brother's house and if my dad's camera is up to it, I'll post some photos from Melbourne. To all who are having exams, 'hang in there for the last lap~ Nil Sine Labore!' (what? you expect me to post, 'the best is yet to be?' I can but then... <psst, the worse is yet to come...>)

Gravity
Just a lil art I did today. The word was originally for a multimedia project of ours. I was going for a 'graffiti' look to the word. I loved how it turned out and decided to add some graphics to it as well. Done in half a day with some online references. Comment if ya wanna.
ZGM
For some time now I've been reading the blogs of some of the ZGM youth. ZGM which stands for Zion Gospel Mission lah, the pentecostal church I grew up in. My parents as well as my brother still attend the church and my dad's a cell leader, deacon and all. My mum has even been ZGM church secretary a few times as well. So my family has been involved with and intertwined with ZGM for many many years. I myself, when I was in sec. 3, went off to join Kampong Kapor Methodist which is the sponsoring church of my Boys' Brigade company.
I had felt called to fellowship and service in the church and I'm glad to say that God has blessed me richly indeed through the ministry of KKMC and the Boys' Brigade. Thru BB, I came to receive Christ as my Lord, I honed my skills as a musician and came to be learn a lot through being in the youth ministry. KKMC remains my home church and I do not feel a call to leave it as of this moment.
Some days however, I do wonder what it would have been like had I not left ZGM... When I left ZGM, some of the older youths, whom I looked up to as bigger brothers and sisters, people like Kenny, Judith, Christine, Jared etc were all in their late JC, early tertiary/army period. Now, at least half of em are married with kids! I guess it shouldn't come as a shock to me seeing as how some local Aussie Christians I know get married at like 20 to 22 years of age. But they are angmoh lah... us asians are different I guess. But I see in their blogs, this close knit community of believers you know. This group that has people in their early 30s feeling as comfortable being around kids in their late teens. Its a closeness in fellowship that I see lacking in KKMC. Or maybe its just my peers in KKMC. We have become too busy for each other... And one by one, my peers have left the church. What is happening?
I guess I kinda miss the 'small family church' atmosphere from the days of my youth. This is not to say that KKMC is a huge church. KKMC is quite small actually but bigger than ZGM. One of the reasons why I'm so keen in visiting Good News Baptist is this reason I guess, other than one other most important reason.

Table swarm
Help! My table is swarmed with ants... don't know from where all come out to play now that its summer. Sigh... nevermind, since I'm leaving it behind when I move house. I do miss it though, haven't gotten used to its functionality...

I'm all done
I'm all done with school work. The last of my projects have been done away, the last day of school for me was friday and I will not have to step into COFA till it is February. What remains now is for me to pack my bags, I've one week to do so, so I am able to head off to Melbourne on Saturday for a family holiday and upon my return, to move into my new place (and my own room, woot) in Randwick. Thereafter its off to Perth for convention and finally back in Singapore on the 8th of Dec, after 9 months and 24 days away. Where it will be another 2 months 20 days before I leave for Sydney again, or 82 days in Singapore.
And what a precious 82 days it will be.
And what a precious 82 days it will be.

Sleepless in Sydney
I once thought that my days of INVOLUNTARY sleep depravation were over once I left the army and did have to be Guard 2IC (the one who mans the guardroom at the gate of the camp) anymore. Sure I will not sleep when I'm pressed for datelines to projects and sure we didn't sleep at all when we were rushing out videos for Metamorphosis. But those were VOLUNTARY. Here, in Sydney, I have to INVOLUNTARY get deprived of sleep again... I hate that feeling of fatigue and listlessness. When you cannot have your full faculties about you, when you're not fully in the present because you do not have enough sleep...
But hopefully, it'll all get better next year...
But hopefully, it'll all get better next year...

I love...
... helping you with your work. Sure, editing your writing isn't that fun a thing to do and I'm not particular good at english, but helping you with your work gives me a sense of ease. I feel I'm actively making a difference in your life. So no, its no bother at all. I love doing it :P
